Women who drink Coffee less likely to be depressed

Now that comes as yet another fantastic piece of research work for all those women who are coffee addicted.  Women who drink two or more cups of coffee a day are less likely to get depressed, research suggests.  The findings, published in Archives of Internal Medicine, come from a study of more than 50,000 US female nurses. The Harvard Medical School team tracked the health of the women over a decade from 1996 to 2006 and relied on questionnaires to record their coffee consumption.  Just over 2,600 of the women developed depression over this time period.Compared with women who drank one cup of caffeinated coffee or less per week, those who consumed two to three cups per day had a 15% decreased risk of developing depression. Now isn’t that a good news friends, @younghopes we do believe coz it is just giving us one more reason to drink our coffee…and no one gonna stop us Hah… you can read the entire story here BBC

Tea Tree Oil: Benefits

Tea Tree is revered for its antibacterial, antiviral, antimicrobial, antiseptic and powerful antifungal properties.More recently, the scientific community has confirmed that Tea Tree Oil has tremendous medicinal benefits. It is a light yellow oil that has a scent similar to nutmeg, and it is produced by steaming tea tree leaves and then squeezing the oil out.

Tea Tree is used to treat athlete’s foot, burns, Candida, cold sores, corns, dandruff, eczema, insect bites/stings (or other itches), lice, nail fungus, psoriasis, respiratory infections, ringworm, chicken pox, sore throat, strep throat, thrush, warts, cuts, as an insect repellent. Tea Tree can be toxic when used internally, and it is best to avoid when pregnant or lactating. This essential oil can be used neat on the skin, but some people are sensitive to it.  To test if you have a sensitivity, try diluting tea tree in a carrier oil (i.e. sweet almond, jojoba, sesame, grape seed) oil before applying a small amount to your skin (avoiding the face and other sensitive areas to begin with.)

Studies have shown that Tea Tree Oil also treats respiratory problems ranging from common sore throats, coughs and runny nose to severe conditions such as asthma, tuberculosis, and bronchitis. The anti-viral properties of the oil fight many common infectious diseases such as chicken pox, shingles and measles, flu, cold sores and verrucae. It also strengthens the body’s immune system, which is often weakened by stress, illness, or by the use of antibiotics and other drugs.

Controlling Diabetes: Effective Home Remedies

Diabetes treatment with Bitter Gourd: Home Remedy for Diabetes
Among the several home remedies that have proved helpful in controlling diabetes, perhaps the most vital is the use of bitter gourd. It has lately been established that bitter gourd contains a hypoglycaemic or insulin-like principle, designated as ‘plantinsulin’, which has been found precious in lowering the blood and urine sugar levels. It should, therefore, be included generously in the diet of the diabetic. For better results, the diabetic must take the juice of about four or five karelas each morning on an empty stomach. The seeds can be added to food in a powdered state. Diabetics can also use bitter gourd in the state of a decoction by boiling the pieces in water or in the form of dry powder. One of the good home remedies for diabetes. Continue reading
